  • Promises specific grades ("guaranteed A in SPM"). No tutor can guarantee a grade; results depend on the student's effort.
  • Vague about which syllabus they teach. KSSM, KSSR, IGCSE, and Cambridge are different — a tutor who can't articulate the difference probably teaches one and dabbles in others.
  • Asks to teach in a non-standard location (their car, a hotel, an unfamiliar address) for a child. Always at your home, the tutor's verified home address, a public study space, or online.
